Title: Navy
Rating: PG
Synopsis: Roger reflects on his relationship with Mark and how others perceive it.
Category: Mark/Roger slash-ish-sorta. Drabble.
POV: Roger
Warnings: None at all, really. Very, very slight mentions of slashy tendencies, so I rated it PG just to be on the safe side.
Feedback: Any and all constructive criticism would be lovely, whether e- mailed (ButterflyChica2@aol.com) or left in a review.
Disclaimer: Mark and Roger belong to Jonathan Larson. I just play with them.
Notes: This is a drabble, meaning that it's exactly 100 words long. (Count for yourself if you don't believe me.) I quickly learned that it's really, really difficult to write exactly 100 words and still convey what you want to convey, but this is the result of my efforts.
Navy

There's this striped scarf Mark wears sometimes. Most people would say it's black and white.
But it's not black and white. The black is actually navy.
That's the way everyone sees things- in black and white. To them, there's no in between.
So they see us, see that we're more than friends- darker than white- and assume we must be lovers- black.
But we're not lovers, though we're not just friends. There's no word to describe what we are. I just know we love each other- with our entire souls.
So we're not white. We're not black. We're just ..
Navy.
