Fairy Tales

They were sleeping, peacefully at that. Ralph sat up, blinking and smiling slightly, shadows veiling his face. Jack had kicked him awake, and now he had a bruise forming that wasn't a very lovely shade on his bare shoulder.

The red head had his eyes closed, chest out with a calm face. No drool or smiles came from him, even in sleep. Ralph frowned. His dream had been nice, too. He was a knight, trying to save his damsel in distress.

He poked Jack in the side, recoiling as a grunt rolled past firm lips. Ralph snickered to himself. Jack was an animal, in many aspects.

"Hey Jack..." he murmured.

He got a soft groan as a reply, fiery hair falling into dark lashes. Ralph decided to poke him again and this time, he was mildly successful.

"What, what is it?" Jack coughed, sitting up with a snarl.

Ralph began happily, "I had a wizard dream you know, of a lovely fairy tale."

"What do I care? I was killing things. Way to go and wake a bloke up like that," the other boy snorted, rolling over but Ralph poked him, yet again.

"C'mon mate, the other's are... I'm not as close to them! Talk to me, Jack."

Yawning and absently scratching his chest, Jack glared at the fair haired boy, who only shrugged. Ralph had gotten used to Jack's glares. Level one glare was easy and soft, as not to be taken too seriously and that's what he received.

"Fine," Jack moaned. "Tell me then."

Smiling, Ralph inched closer to the red headed boy. "Well, I was knight and I stood in front of a huge castle! A rather pretty girl was looking out of the window, screaming and such for me to save her. I just..."

Snorting again, Jack crossed his arms. "And you woke me for that?"

Ralph had a hurt look in his eyes as he glanced up, isntantly making Jack guilty. The older of the two bit his lip, smiling slightly as an apology. "All right, all right. Sounded special then. Right?"

Nodding, Ralph suddenly turned to him, all traces of hurt gone. "Do you believe in fairy tales, you know? The ones where the bloke always gets the girl, no matter what evil he faces?"

Jack grinned ruefully, leaning over so that his breath was like a ghosts touch on Ralph's cheek as he whispered.

"Nah not really, but if I did my fairy tales would be different. The guy always gets what he want, yeah?"

Ralph nodded mutely.

"And in my fairy tale, say the mate wants another mate, right?"

Ralph visibly paled.

"Yeah and so..."

Their lips locked.

And Jack smiled. "He gets 'im."

Pointless, I know. Sigh.
