Chapter 1

"Hey mom," Kana said finally breaking the deafening silence, "Why do people shoplift?"

"I don't know… Why do you ask?"

"Ohh, just a random question." Kana said smiling for some odd reason, "Can we go home after this?"

"Sure, tired?" She asked as Kana nodded, "Okay lets go home then .uhh." Lifting the five-pound bags.

As they were leaving Kana saw something that really caught her eyes…a COFFEE STAND with a really fine guy working there. "Hey mom you wanna get a cappuccino?" Inquisitively she asked.

"Sure." She slyly said

LATER ON

"I see why you wanted to get a cappuccino." Mom said hardly keeping a smile off her face, "That guy was cute or as you young people say it he was h-o-t-t."

"Nothing. Nothing… Your just weird." Kana said quietly to herself.

After they got into the car and minutes of silence Kana asked, "why do you have to go, especially on my birthday?"

"I don't but the boss says I have to go, I go as long as there's money and the boss sends me where there's money I'll go." She said in a very sorry voice.

"Can't you take a day off after my birthday… please?"

"I wish, but I'll make it up to you somehow, I promise."

"No you won't you'll never be able to make it up to me, the reason why is that's one birthday you weren't there to see me blow out the candles, mom."

She said angrily.

While she was saying that her mom had already turned on the car and made it onto the highway. There was silence for along time, or so it seemed. And Kana was thinking on what her mother said, 'my mom's suck up, I don't believe it. I thought my mom was really cool but now she's only so-so cool."

Then it happened……………..
