The Earth looks beautiful tonight. Her heart burns.
for all eternity
She sits quietly on her blood red, royal throne, which is decorated beautifully with little, silver gems and a large, golden crescent moon on top. Her mother, the Queen Serenity, is sitting next to her, her throne even greater than hers.
A ball is going on tonight – but she doesn't feel like dancing very much. Not without him there.
Without him by her side, everything seems so boring. So lifeless. He's the one who makes it all so much more exciting. And without him, she feels as though her heart could stop beating any moment now.
A handsome lord, whose name she doesn't know, walks up to her. He bows out of respect, a kind smile on his face. He offers her his hand, asking for a dance. She gently reclines, like she has done many times tonight. The handsome lord's arm drops a little. He looks disappointed, but he quickly recovers, saying that it doesn't matter. He walks away, many women hopefully following him with their eyes.
Her porcelain-like face faults a little; she doesn't like rejecting people. She's the person who likes to make others happy, putting their happiness before hers.
A voice startles her out of her thoughts. A deep, husky voice. Asking her for a dance. She looks at him, opening her mouth to say 'no' (despite her guilty feelings), but nothing comes out. She stares at the man, a smile slowing creeping up her face. He offers her his hand, and she takes it, accepting his request. His hand feels warm.
"You're late," she says in a teasing voice. "It's not very nice to make a lady wait."
He chuckles softly. "Will you accept this as an apology, then?" He softly touches her lips with his finger – she shivers; his touch alone can drive her crazy – before gently and slowly covering her mouth with his. For a moment, she feels like she's walking on nothing but air. When he breaks the soft kiss off, she can't help but pout slightly; he laughs at her expression.
"I've missed your cute face." He puts his strong arms around her, burying his face in her long, blonde hair.
"I've missed everything about you," she whispers quietly, putting her arms around his neck, enjoying the warm and intimate embrace.
To her, it feels like the embrace lasts forever. But when the ceiling suddenly collapses, and a woman with blood red hair laughs maniacally, Endymion lets go and draws his sword – and she realizes that there is no such thing as 'forever'.
And there you have it! A lovely, one-of-a-kind, Serenity/Endymion drabble! Or something. Um. Yeah. I feel as though it's a little fast-paced, but that's all right, right? Anyways, please review!
