Harry Potter and all it's characters belongs to J.K Rowling. Teenage FBI is owned by Guided by Voices, but I'm not allowed the actual song so please listen to it. It's important to the story.
Dear Lily,
I call you my lily-flower, my tiger, my nemesis, my colleague. For years I've wanted to call you my love, my girlfriend, but you wouldn't let me. And I finally understand why, I'm a fool. Whenever I'm near you I'm unable to think clearly, unable to act like the person I know I am. I know I can be the person you want me to be, I know I can live up to your standards. I know because I've seen the few men you have dated, and they have hurt you. I've seen them build you up and knock you down, I've seen them stamp on your heart without a second thought, and I've seen them treat you as a lowly being when I know you are so much more.
Please don't think me a poet; I am not. But I am a lover, a lover of you.
Honestly can you blame me?
I may act like a bumbling git of a man, but deep down I know I can be a strong and mature person, I can be a man you can love. And now as we leave Hogwarts I may not get the chance to show you.
But I wanted to tell you anyway.
I wanted to tell you I love you, scrap that, I am IN love with you. And I hope you know how much that means, and I hope you don't ignore this.
But overall I hope you can somehow, someday fall in love with me in return.

Sorry it's so short, but I was listening to the song on the Buffy album and I thought it fit James so well. How he only is such an ass around Lily. And well a letter seemed to fit. It's a one-shot. Please review.
