Chapter One: Help Me

A distant ring echoed in Richard Grayson's head. He groggily sat up in his bed and looked around at the clock which read '2:00 AM'. Richard groaned. He got up reluctantly and wondered who would be at the door at two in the morning. His thoughts wandered else where as walked into the entrance hall.

Richard reminisced vaguely about his days as a Titan, as Robin. He smiled. It was always nice to get together with the team. Granted, ten years had passed and they all had continued with their lives, but it was always nice to think about his former life, especially Starfire.

The two of them had kept in contact the most, but over the last few months they had become somewhat distant with each other. Starfire, now under the alias Kori Anders, had gotten a job somewhere up north, while Richard stayed in Jump City. Contact with her had become increasingly difficult, but he tried to make a call at least once week. He finally reached the door and opened it.

A young woman with short red hair and emerald green eyes stared up at him. She had bruises and cuts all over her body. Blood streamed from her arms and face, and her black eye had begun to swell. She tried to keep her balance by leaning on the wall behind her.

"Kori!" Richard exclaimed as he helped inside his home. "Kori! How… who… did this to you?" he said as he shut the door. Tears rushed down her face. She winced as her tears fell though her lacerations. She took a step forward and collapsed on top of him.

"It's gone, it's all gone… my home… I couldn't save… my fault… all my fault!" she said as she cried on his shoulder.

"What are you talking about Kori?" he asked as he slowly led her to the couch. She shook her head stubbornly. Richard quietly slid over to her and held her in his arms once more. Her silent tears began to fall once more. "Maybe… you need to start from the beginning."

"All I remember is an end…" she said quietly.

"Starfire… please, tell me what's wrong?" he whispered slowly into her ear.

"You haven't called me that in so long…" she smiled slightly. "I shall try to explain, but I don't know how… long, I can…" She began to sob uncontrollably.

"You can wait to tell me in the morning ya know."

"No… I'll… explain… it all began, when I went back to Tameran."

A/N: I wanna end that chappie there… it's more like a prologue.
