Hidden Power: Revised

Prologue: The End

Clap clap Tenchi claps his hands twice and slowly kneels down to place the small clay flask of sake and a small vase of flowers before Ryoko's grave marker. "Please, Tenchi…I have to do this". Today was a perfect day to come visit his beloved. Ryoko's calm eyes said it all; there was nothing he could do to change her mind. Was he this useless? Was he this pathetic to just watch his love walk away like this? The sun was out, it wasn't too warm. His eyes slowly close as his lips part and his vocal cords begin to sound out the words of the usual prayer to the dead. Red and darkness intertwined around Ryoko's form. It was a painful sight, it was as if she was being swallowed by the evil energies it self! Must he only watch this? Can he not do anything? A piercing scream rings in his already throbbing ears. No, he couldn't take anymore. "Ryoko!" he pushed past the others and ran in her direction, he didn't care if she had to do this or not! He was not going to let her go! Not now! A blinding light irrupted from Ryoko's chest causing Tenchi to stop in his tracks, shielding his eyes. By the time the light had faded, Ryoko was no longer there. All that was left behind were the three red gems she had possessed. The red color was no longer visible, just an empty blackness.

His soft brown eyes open, letting his eyes rest upon the carved name on the stone marker before him. He feels a slight pang of strain behind his eyes, the signal that tears were to threaten to spill soon. He got to his feet and turns from the grave marker, making his way away from the family grave yard and to the steps that led back down the hill to the house.

"You ready to go home?"

Tenchi glances up and nods his head solemnly," Yea." He heads on down the stone stairs, a small smile falling upon his lips as his mind wanders once more.
