'..miss you a lot.' '...think of it as an 'I Care' kinda gift..' Ed crumpled the paper and sighed. After a moment of silence, he unrolled the crunched paper and flattened it into a book. A blank book with several crumpled papers every few pages.
Without a word, he went and took a shower.

Alphonse Elric was on the phone with a hysterical blonde. Ed was off doing something at some crime scene with Armstrong, or he was running and hiding from him, either way. Winry had called for Ed because he hadn't written or called. She added that she was only worried about her fine automail and the well being of her childhood friends.
"I understand Winry... No I don't know why he hasn't written to you... Well he's been a little busy... I know he should find time to call... I miss you too... Yes I'm sure Ed does too." Despite how worthless Al seemed in this conversation to someone listening, he wasn't being that overpowered.
"I'll tell him to call, Winry. But I have work to do right now. Can I call you back?.. what? Oh well. I have to clean... Ed. Went a little... crazy... oh. Nothing big. Just the Colonel making a joke about his height... It's nothing new. I really gotta go. Bye... You too... Good Bye." Al finally hung up the phone.
He began to clean the room, starting with the scattered papers. He picked up a book. He remembered Ed buying it on their way to Central for the first time. A paper was sticking out near the front. He opened the book to slide it back into place when he noticed what it was. A letter.
"To Winry." why wouldn't Ed send this? A letter to Winry... "I wonder what it says.. That would keep brother from sending it.." he sat down and read.
'Dear Winry,
What's up? On the road to Central. Nothing much happens, at least not as much as stuff at your house. How's the old bat doing?... Is Fido doing alright? He should be, with your Automail. Only old age should kill that dog... So..'
The letter stopped there with a scribble and a hole which suggested that he stabbed the paper in frustration. Al glimpsed a few other pages. They were all letters to Winry. Unfinished letters that were never sent.
What was hidden in it's pages?
Reb: note, these will be short chapters. Goodbye! -smile-
