A Step in the Right direction
Summary: Anakin goes into a coma for 8 months. While in the coma he sees some of Padme's future.
Characters: Anakin, Padme, Shmi, Qui-gon, Obi-won, Watto, Sebulba, Jedi council
As Anakin slept he saw what was going to happen for the next couple of days. When he woke up from his dream he realized none of it was real. Then his mind started to wander. What day was it? How many days of work had he missed? How many days had he been sleeping? He had so many questions but so few answers.
When he finally got downstairs he saw his mother cooking breakfast. "Ani honey you're finally a wake you've been asleep for two days just thrashing around in your sleep I couldn't stand it."
"Sorry mom I didn't realize how long I was asleep for"he told her. Then he realized what time it was he was going to be late if he didn't get going he ran all the way to Watto's shop. He barley made it on time. "Sorry I am late Watto"
"Yeah whatever go clean the shelves." Just then Qui-gon came in along with Padme. They were looking for parts for a Naboo starship. "So do you have the parts I need or not?" Qui-gon asked
"Depends do you have my money?"Watto said
"We have republic credits" Qui-gon told him
"Republic credits don't work here, we need something more real" he told Qui-gon. Qui-gon tried using his Jedi powers but they don't work on Toyridian's because they are not weak minded. Then Watto said "What do you think you are a Jedi?" Qui-gon didn't answer that.
Just when they were about to walk out Anakin called after them "Hey guys come back here. We may not take republic credits, but there are other ways to get your parts. Meet me outside I should be out soon." Then Watto came out and told him to go home. So he left and met Qui-gon "So what is this other way?"
"Well there's a Podrace tomorrow at Bonta Eve and I'm in it maybe you could bet on me and get your parts."
The next day Qui-gon went to Watto "here's my proposal. If Anakin wins the race you give me the parts and set Anakin and his mother free. Watto reluctantly agreed to the matters. Then the next day was the race. It was a close race but in the end Anakin ended up winning. Right as Anakin crossed the finish line Sebulba crashed into his podracer. He had crashed into his cheering area and fell into a coma. Sure enough he won his and his mothers freedom, and the parts.
The next day they went to pick up the parts and pick up Anakin from the hospital. They got on the ship and headed for Corusant. They dropped the queen by the senate building, and Anakin by the hospital. While Anakin's in a coma he sees the assassination attempt on Senator Amidala. He also see's somebody choking Padme. Finally after 8 months Anakin woke up. The doctors called all the emergency contacts to come pick him up. Obi-won was the first to arrive so he could tell Anakin he was now a padawan learner to him. Then Padme, Qui-gon, and Shmi all came. For a while they just sat there and were amazed by how well he looked. Finally Padme broke the silence. "Ani how are you feeling?"
"Fine Padme how are you?"
"I am fine why do you ask?"
"Just Curious"
"Anakin we have to go to the Jedi temple for our assignment." Obi-won said
"Yes master bye Padme hope to see you again."
