Author's Note- Just a quickie before I start off the chapters, this fan fiction is a follow-up to the trilogy of books by Malorie Blackman called 'Noughts and Crosses', about a world drenched in racial hatred, where 'Black and white are right and wrong' - basically a bit of role reversal. ANYWAY, I'm blathering, so to cut it short, this is set after the second book, 'Knife Edge' (Because I haven't read the third yet) and is based around Jude, a nought extremist with a vendetta against all crosses, and Amber, a new character who is entirely my creation. So…enjoy! (Even if you've never read the book).
O one, JUDE
I'm out. Out of prison and out of that hellhole where I can hardly move to pick up a playing card without 5 guards turning guns on me. But that's what they do, that's how they think of me. I'm a freedom fighter and even if they don't know it I'm a murderer too.
A while back I killed a woman. A cross. Served her right, she was pathetic, trying to make me feel, trying to make me love. But when you start feeling, you lose control, and that's when it gets dangerous, so I'm never going there again. Simple.
That's what life is, when you follow a few little rules. It's when you start worrying about other people that everything gets complicated, so I'm cutting down on that.
I got out after 6 months for good behaviour, which is pretty good considering it was a two year sentence. I reckon I was the model prisoner, but they didn't realise that what I was doing every second of every minute of every hour that I was there.
They didn't realise I was planning the downfall of the woman who murdered my brother; Persephone Hadley.
