Nothing is mine... sigh...
She squared her shoulders before she knocked on his office door.

"Enter."

Was her only acknowledgement, despite the fact he knew exactly who she was.

She opened the door, noting how, despite its age, it did not make a sound. She closed it behind her and began to walk to his desk.

Before she had crossed half of the room, he was upon her, having risen so quickly from his seat and traversing the remainder of the room so fast, she had not seen him do it. He grabbed her upper arms in a vice like grip, pulling her sharply to make sure he had her attention.

"Kiss me."

It was not a request and in his voice was the strongest demand she had ever heard.

He saw her eyes widen in surprise at his greeting. But they only stayed for a moment before they became calculating, seemingly knowing the answer to her forthcoming question before she bothered to ask it.

"Why?"

"Because I want to die."

"And how will my kiss achieve your death?"

"Because he cursed me."

He had been cursed.

His former master had discovered his treachery and taken it upon himself to curse him with death when he acquired the very thing he wanted most.

Her lips against his own.

His eyes told her the story, she didn't need to ask.

"Will the kiss kill me as well?"

"I do not know."

"Then I refuse. I will not continue living if you are gone."

His grip on her arms lessened somewhat when he felt them begin to move. But his eyes never left hers.

Her hands rose to cup his face, their touch so cool it seemed as if liquid ran across his cheeks. She gave him a small, sad, smile before she rose and placed her lips on his forehead, then his now closed eyes and then the end of his crooked nose.

She pulled away and gave him the same sad smile.

His hands release her arms in favor of holding her entire body against his own. His hands on her back held her close as he positioned his chin to rest on the top of her head.

Her own arms were wound about his waist, pulling him as close to her as he was pulling her to him. She buried her face in his chest, a small tear falling from the corner of her eye.

They stood like that forever, relishing the feel of each others bodies against their own, before she began to move.

She tilted her face upwards, brushing her lips against his neck as she slid her arms up his chest to once again reclaim her hold on him, latching behind the neck she was attending to.

He held her ever closer, loosing himself in her touch.

She traveled up to his jaw, then to his ear, leaving butterfly kisses in her wake as her hands tangled in and held his hair.

He let out a small moan when she began to nip his ear, wasting no time before picking her up and carrying her to his bed.

"Kiss me."

He begged of her in an almost silent whisper as e felt her stir against him.

She smiled at him before reaching for the vial of swirling, dark purple liquid, that sat on the bed side table. She quickly pulled the stopper out and downed the entire contents.

"What was that?"

"If you are going to die, than so shall I."

She leaned over his stretched out form and placed a sweet kiss upon his lips, as closed lipped as one five year old gives another but as far from chaste as the child's was close.

He smiled at her as she pulled away, allowing her to nestle against him.

He found them later that day.

The black silk sheets pulled up but in a mess around them.

Her body was laid out against his, his arm keeping her close as she rested her head and hand against his chest.

Neither with a beating heart.
