She didn't really know what had happened. She had only been a passenger, a victim, a survivor. She had never sensed anything coming. She had always trusted her dad one hundred and ten percent whenever he was driving, so she had been calm and relaxed when the accident occurred. It came out of nowhere. The smooth ride quickly turned into a hellish coaster from which only one of three would survive. It was over so quick, but Fiona, thrown from the car and unconscious, would not be able to help her parents, trapped and burning, from the car. When she was to awake, she would only find their smoldering remains in the front seats. At first she denied that this was happening, that what she saw was a dream, an illusion. Everything felt too surreal, so at first these thoughts comforted her, as she started to believe that this was a bad dream, and she was really home in her bed, fast asleep. But as the smells, sights, and feelings deep inside of her began to sink in, she realized the horrible truth and began to vomit and weep uncontrollably. She had never been alone before in her entire life. Always, someone had been there, whether it was a friend or relative, parent of peer, someone had been there for her. She had no one now, no one to hold her and tell her that everything was alright. She was alone. After several minutes, she was able to regain control long enough to decide that it was best she look for help. The cell phones were no doubt destroyed in the wreck, so she set off on foot on up the road. It was a back road, dirt, no pavement. Fiona had no idea where she was. All she knew was that they were heading home from their vacation at the beach. Trudging along feeling depressed and alone, weak and unstable, she came across a driveway. She upped her pace and went quickly up the old walkway, not realizing that bushes and vines had overgrown the path, giving the indication that no one had used it in awhile. The driveway seemed to last forever, and after almost half a mile of running, she came to a gate. Behind the gate was built a tremendous castle like none she had ever seen, not even in the movies. The sight of the castle gave her the biggest chill she would ever experience in her life, until, of course, she was to meet up with the castle keeper. But before she could meet whoever owned the castle, she began to feel more scared than she ever had in her life. She did not know why. It was like the devil himself had snuck up behind her and breathed down her neck and took a hold of her wrist, seeping his evil into her heart. Fiona passed out, and would awake later to find herself locked in the castle, with no recollection of walking up to the castle. No recollection of that fear… no recollection at all…
