Chapter 1

As a man hurriedly rushed down a stone pathway towards an old wooden door, he heard a shuffle in the stones behind him. He quickened his pace as he drew nearer to the door. As he reached the door, he pulled out a polished wand, and waved it in a quick circle at the door. When the door did nothing, he tried it again, and this time to his relief, the door opened.

Once inside, the man shrugged off his cloak, letting it fall to the floor in the entranceway. He stuck his hand in his pocket, making sure that the Holcrux was still there. He made his way to the kitchen, down the long hallway and the narrow staircases that were in Grimmald Place.

As he sat down in a chair, and took a deep drink of the goblet full of butterbeer in front of him, he felt himself begin to relax.

Suddenly, a loud BOOM came from the front room, as the man grabbed his wand and rushed to see what was going on. As he saw dark cloaks rush in, with a single figure standing in the shadows behind the entranceway. Quickly, he threw the Holcrux to the ground in front of him and cast several spells, some aimed at the Death Eaters rushing in, others aimed at the Holcrux on the floor.

As the single figure in the background moved in, and cast the crutacius curse on the man.

The man collapsed to the ground and let out a long, loud scream "AAGHHHHHHH."

Voldermort advanced until he was standing above the man, who was still shaking on the floor from the after-effects of the curse. He shook his head and hissed "Regulus, I never thought I would see the day when you of all people would betray me. As Voldermort flicked his wand again, causing Regulus to cry out in pain again, Voldermort whispered so only Regulus could hear, "Why oh why did you betray me? Why did you betray your master? You know the consequence is death, isn't it better to serve me, then to die?"

Regulus merely stared at Voldermort and didn't respond.

"Avada Kedavra" whispered Voldermort, causing Regulus Aureulus Black to breath his last breath.
