Oxygen

It's a Cid x Shera fic. It's Cid's confession, hopefully it's in character. It's quite short, but i hope you enjoy it anyway.

AN: This is my first Cid x Shera fic. I was really stuck for ideas for this on. It'a really short and only one chapter long, but i suppose i could do a sequel...maybe...Enjoy!

Oxygen

#Shinra No 26…Tank No 8…oxygen…dreams…take off… burned… murderer…abort…Shera…#

Cid was thinking. Shera poured tea into the cup infront of him.

'Captain?' She asked, pushing up her glasses. Cid looked up at her, he smiled a weak smile, there was a sadness in his eyes.

'What's wrong Cid?' Shera asked, starting to look worried.

'Huh…oh…' Cid looked into her eyes. 'It's...nothin…'

'Captain, something's up, what is it?' Shera pressed.

'…well, you know I'm really sorry, about Tank 8 and everythin…' Cid started.

'Yes, I know, I'm sorry as well. I thought we were ok with each other now…' Shera said, sitting down in an opposite chair.

'Yeah, well, I was just thinkin bout it, and…and I coulda lost you…' Cid started to blush.

'Hmm?' Shera looked slightly confused.

'I mean, I coulda murdered you, all for some stupid dream, I mean, a dream isn't worth a life…especially not yours…' Cid was starting to get really flustered.

'W-what are you trying to say, Cid?' Shera blinked.

'Goddamnit Shera, what am I trying to say? I love you.' Cid was bright red, 'All that Meteor stuff, the stuff with Sephiroth, I did it all for you, I wanted you safe, I love you…'

Shera's eyes were starting to water. She didn't say anything; the couple were left in silence.

'I can understand if ya…I'll just leave…i'll be outside…' Cid got up to leave.

'Wait…' Shera got up and walked towards Cid. He turned to look at her. She moved closer to him and slipped her arms around his back. His eyes widened briefly but he wrapped his arms around her shoulders and returned the embrace.

Shera looked up at Cid and smiled, he gently wiped the tears away from her cheek. He ran his thumb over her lips and then gently leaned forward and placed his lips on hers.

'I love you too, Captain' they both smiled as Shera rested her head on Cid's chest, 'I love you too…'
