Haunting is a series of short (very short) dream sequences that I've created for Ryou. They will go in order, but not necessarily day-by-day. This one takes place on the night after Ryou first talks to his other self.
AUTHOR'S NOTE, 8/10: Okay. This is on hold for a bit. It's going to be re-vamped. Sorry, everyone. For a more specific reason, scroll down at the end.
Mirror
It was a room Ryou often came to in his dreams, and it was a place of comfort. Everything he cared for seemed to be there. The toys of his childhood, the RPGs he played now, the books he'd studied so many times, his writing deskāall of his dearest treasures were there to calm his soul.
All his favorite pictures of her were there, too, and that was perhaps what he liked best of all.
There was a new object in the room that night. It didn't surprise Ryou greatly; things often appeared there, especially when Ryou had a lot on his mind. So, calmly, he wandered over to observe it.
It was a full-length mirror, standing unobtrusively in a corner of the room. Its frame was simple, and for a moment Ryou smiled, liking it.
But then he noticed the crack. About as wide as a thread, it cut off a lower corner of the mirror. Ryou kneeled and touched the blemish hesitantly. He felt his smile fade into an uncomfortable frown. There was something disquieting about the mirror and the tiny crack in it. He stood and took a small step backwards, and then he turned away.
Scroll down for explanation plus a possibly misguided spoiler regarding the Ancient Egypt arc. (Well, I say that, but now I have to figure out how to make a decent space here...)

(Yes! Success.)
Okay. I have taken chapters two through ten of "Haunting" down for revamp, because... It turns out that the Bakura-spirit-of-the-Ring and Thief King/Touzoku-Ou Bakura are two completely different things. What Bakura-Ringspirit is I am currently in the process of puzzling through myself. It might be a while. No, scratch that. It WILL be a while. Ancient Egypt confuses the heck out of me. Especially since I can't really read Japanese all that well.
