Sadly She Remembered Him – A Tribute to Harry Potter
(Christmas time)
Ginny Weasley stepped out of her home, the Burrow. It was cold and the wind stung her eyes but she forced herself to move her near-frozen limbs.
Her family had thought she was crazy when she'd said she was going out. After all, she had no reason to leave the warm, cozy Burrow and visit outside—the snow, the sleet, the wind, the cold.
But she hadn't forgotten. They all might have; it had been seven years. She was twenty-three. Ron was twenty-four. The twins were twenty-six. Her father was forty-nine. Her mother was forty-seven.
How could they have forgotten?
How?
Their words floated back to her…
'…my best mate…'
'…our financial backer… (nod, nod, wink, wink)…'
'…extended family…'
'…like a seventh son…'
Ginny couldn't help but sob and sob, tears falling freely down her face.
They were all just having fun, stuffing their faces, getting drunk, pulling crackers, opening presents, singing carols…how could they have forgotten?
Placing white daisies, red roses, white roses and purple forget-me-nots at the bottom of the round grey stone, she brushed away the ice that had formed over the top.
Sitting down next to it, Ginny stroked the stone, cold against her touch. She traced the words with her stiff fingers, watching as her tears slowly but surely smudged and blurred her vision.
'Oh, Harry,' she whispered, 'where have you been all this while?
'What are you doing up there, big guy?
'Have you been enjoying yourself?
'I just wanna say that—that…' Ginny's voice caught in her throat, 'that I miss you so much and I think about you day and night…dreams and fantasies…and I'll never forget you, wherever I am, wherever you are, no matter what I'm doing, how old I may be…I'll never forget you…you—you changed my life.'
Sadly she walked in the snow,
Sadly she watched as the river stopped to flow.
Sadly she stopped at the graveyard,
Sadly she remembered his last card.
Sadly she thought of his warm, loving smile,
Sadly she visualized their little while.
Sadly she took out a photograph,
Sadly she remembered when she used to laugh.
Sadly she began to cry,
Sadly she let out a long, depressed sigh.
Sadly she walked home as the sky started to dim,
Sadly she remembered him.
UPDATE
Right. I didn't realize we had to but…
DISCLAIMER: Nope. Nothing's mine. MUAHAHAHAHA. Alright, sorry. Just going a bit insane…
Anyway, thanks for all the reviews. As I write now, I've got a humongous, whopping total of…10 reviews! Thank you to all the dear reviewers.
I shan't continue with this story. It's a bit of a one-shot thing, but if I do , it'll kind of ruin the story so I shan't…
