Light
A/N: This is my first attempt for a GetBackers fic…or so a drabble…Don't forget to review…thanks! OOC and angsty Ban on your way!
Disclaimer: GetBackers is not mine, though I would like to grab Ban and Kazuki!
In darkness we'll find our light,
In sadness there's still desire.
In pain one can continue to dream,
In life some can be your gleam.
Darkness does not leave his troubled heart and the shadows were slowly consuming him to no end. His very being and existence were of no use. And all he could see was death. Death with his shining scythe, ripping souls and spilling blood….
There was nothing to protect him. No one to serve as his light, no one to serve as the fulfillment to his dreams…no one! All was for death to spill and clean. He was in any case a curse; he held nothing of importance or give any sense of importance.
There was blood, and he was the one who spilled it. He was always the one that brings death among his friends, if there was any.
But everything changed, one stormy night. He wasn't running away; he just felt the need to be with his own kind. And no place is much better than Infinity City. However, even his own kind despised him.
Where does a lost soul like him fit, then? Even the gods were reluctant to accept him. Because all were willing to play with his fate, all were willing to wait for his death…all were willing to erase his existence. All except one.
He didn't know what, why or how it all occurred. But when their eyes met, he felt the same loneliness and saw a small gleam of light.
And for the first time, he felt alive. He felt right, felt like he was really human…felt the need for change and felt as if the gods have answered his prayers with mercy.
'Cause that night, unknowing to all…he found his light…his very own one.
Luck must have found him along the way.
He was employed again, a job similar to his first. Nevertheless he felt utterly wary to avoid death. Because he knew his new partner was valuable to him, more important than Yamato and Himiko ever were…more important than his very own life.
And everything became fruitful ever since that starless night. Many changes occurred since he met him. Even though he knew he never deserve any of this, he was hoping his light would not come across the same fate.
It was easier to live with him around. This time, he promised he would protect his light even in the expense of his life.
Now, his life just can't get any better.
END.
