I thought this up while listening to "Doesn't Remind Me" by Audioslave. Hope you enjoy!
I almost forgot the disclaimer: I don't own Yuu Yuu Hakusho or any of the characters. If I did own yyh, it would be really perverted and not for kids.
On with the story!
It Didn't Remind Him
He loved to walk around until he got lost. It was peaceful, and quiet, and no one tried to console him.
He loved it when things didn't remind him of something.
He loved the trees that didn't remind him of his lost love.
He loved it when it lightly sprinkled all day and how it didn't remind him of that fateful day.
He loved going by hospitals and seeing the worried expressions on everyone's face because it didn't remind him of that one mission that changed his life and ended another.
He loved going to the park and watching squirrels that didn't remind him of how his beloved had always chased the creatures after they had thrown acorns at him.
He also loved to watch young lovers be together because it absolutely, positively, did not remind him of his lover and how he would never be able to see him again in any way.
He loved to go to the store and buy gallons of ice cream, or sweet snow as his lover had called it, and let it sit out, open, and melt because it did not remind him of the first kiss he had shared with his little hotaru (firefly).
What he loved to do most, though, was relive the battle in his mind because it did not in any way remind him that he had been wounded and his beloved had given all of his force to him, sacrificing his life. He also loved how it did not remind him that he had been the cause of his beloved's pain, and that he was careless, and it was all is fault.
He decided that he would visit Hiei's grave tomorrow to remind himself of his beloved one last time.
Sad, I know. In case you didn't figure it out, all of that did remind him of Hiei and he would go to the fire demon's grave not to remind himself of his koi, but to try and let him go and ask for forgiveness. Hope that makes sense.
Hope you all enjoyed and please review! Ja ne!
