I Can't Take My Eyes Off You

Disclaimer: I don't own "The Blower's Daughter" or Harry Potter. Unfortunately.

And so it is.

She sat on the floor of the Weasley living room, directly in front of the warmth of the fire. Outside, her family was talking, laughing, eating. She was with them long enough until she could barely breathe. The tension of being close to Harry--but not being with him--was too strong. She couldn't handle it. Directly after dessert she snuck inside and started a fire. It was a July evening, but the cold from not holding him swept away all of the summer heat from her body.

Just like you said it would be.

He ended their relationship to protect her. In doing so, he risked himself more. Love was his only protection from Voldemort. The past proved that. She loved him. She could save him.

Life goes easy on me.

He either didn't realize that, or would rather die than have her die for him.

Most of the time.

A tear trickled down her cheek.

And so it is.

She brought her knees up to her chest.

The shorter story.
No love, no glory.

She wanted to save him.

No hero in her sky.

He stood in the doorway.

I can't take my eyes off of you.

She turned to face him. She met his eyes.

I can't take my eyes off you.

He stepped closer, the flames dancing across his face.

I can't take my eyes off of you.

She stood.

I can't take my eyes off you.

The space between them filled quickly.

I can't take my eyes off you.

She wrapped her arms around him. She wanted to save him.

I can't take my eyes...

"Why, Harry?" she asked.

"To save you."

She pulled away. "Don't you understand? There's a way for us to protect each other."

"I don't want your protection."

And so it is.

"W--what?" she asked, stunned.

"I mean...I want your protection. Your protection is your love. Of course I want that. But loving you puts you in harm. I'd rather be in complete danger and protecting you than sharing the danger."

Just like you said it should be.

"We're all in danger," she said.

"Yes, but--"

We'll both forget the breeze.

"Harry," she said seriously. "I love you."

Most of the time.

He took a step back.

And so it is.

"I mean...I..." she lost her train of thought.

The colder water.
The blower's daughter.
The pupil in denial.

He looked her straight in the eyes.

I can't take my eyes off of you.

The next few seconds seemed to last a lifetime.

I can't take my eyes off you.

He tucked a stray curl behind her ear.

I can't take my eyes off of you.

He cupped her face in his hands.

I can't take my eyes off you.

He smiled.

I can't take my eyes off you.

He took a step closer.

I can't take my eyes...

He tilted his head down.

Did I say that I loathe you?

He closed his eyes.

Did I say that I wanted to

Leave it all behind?

Their lips met.

I can't take my mind off of you.

They pulled apart.

I can't take my mind off you.

He smiled.

I can't take my mind off of you.

She bit her lower lip.

I can't take my mind off you.

He wrapped his arms tighter around her.

I can't take my mind off you.

She slipped her arms over his shoulders.

I can't take my mind...

She pressed herself against him.

My mind...

He kissed her forehead passionately.

My mind...

"I love you, too," he whispered.

'Til I find somebody new.
