We sat in silence, watching the ocean grow dark as the light of the sun dimmed. The night air was crisp and chilled us both to the bone but neither of us made an effort to move. We just sat there, knowing this is where we belonged without ever having to say a word to each other.

It had been earlier today that Tachibana had showed up at my small apartment, demanding that we have a match before sundown despite the freezing temperatures outdoors. I had reluctantly agreed but not before I layered myself in warm clothes, tying a scarf around my neck as well. You gave me another one of those looks, the kind that just shouts, "what are you, an idiot?" but I ignored it as I usually do and merely shoved my way past you to begin heading down the stairs.

After playing for just over an hour, without either of us being able to score on the other, we decided to finally call it a day and we started to head back towards my place. We were almost there when your pace began to slow and your attention was drawn more and more to the crashing waves of the ocean that lay beside the road. I let myself smile at that if only for a minute before suggesting we stop here for a bit. You made a fuss about it being too cold to hide your embarrassment of being caught admiring something other than yourself so I just said it was your own fault before taking you by the arm and dragging you to the beach.

You complained when I took the red scarf I wore and tied it around your neck and mine but I just ignored you and rested my head on your shoulder.

I know we may be different- you being wild and rude, I being calm and well brought up; you making a fuss over everything, I just letting things happen at their own pace - we're black and white; as opposite as it comes. But even still, we both know that none of that matters.

We are, after all, tied together in red.

This is my first ever I'll Generation Basket fic! I'm surprised I wrote it as I'm such a lazy writer.

This is for Redex's theme of the day, Complimentary Colours. I hope you like it, Redex! I dedicate it to you since you're my #1 inspiration for anything I'llGB!

Also, the last part about being tied together in red is a reference to the over-used story in Japan that anyone who is fated to be together is tied to each other by a red string. I'm a hopeless romantic. lol
