(Notes: A little experimental thing about Kaidou's motto. Rather repetitive, and I don't know if that works. Not really spoiler-ish; this is supposed to take place after the training with Hyoutei and before Rikkaidai.)

He was Kaoru Kaidou, and Kaoru Kaidou never backed down.
Unless he was faced with Inui's latest not-quite-vegetable juice.
Or a small and fuzzy animal that he just had to pet.
Other than that, Kaoru Kaidou was the most stoic member of the Seigaku tennis team.
He was Kaoru Kaidou, and Kaoru Kaidou never backed down.
However, if Eiji was recounting another one of his ghost stories, you wouldn't see Kaoru Kaidou in the room.
Or in the general vincinity of that building.
But Kaoru Kaidou was still the toughest kid in the entire Seishun Gakuen Jr. High school.
He was Kaoru Kaidou, and Kaoru Kaidou never backed down.
Especially not on what he considered to be his own territory; the spot by the river where he had finally perfected his Boomerang Snake.
As he trained there every morning and evening, he chanted to himself that Kaoru Kaidou never backs down.
Until that one time Inui dropped in on his training session.
Under the guise of helping Kaoru Kaidou put the finishing touches on the Boomerang Hadoukyuu, Inui grabbed his wrist and kissed him on the lips.
And Kaoru Kaidou backed down.
