Fingers scraped raw...
Fingers bled...
She clawed her way down mechanically, despite the ache, despite the sadness. Clearing away dirt after rubble, again and again.
The night wind shifted and played a dizzying dance with her brown locks, spinning them around. Her brown eyes were clouded over, shrouding the storm of emotions stirring inside them.
The moon hung directly above her. The stars skipped about. The silvery shafts of moonlight spun about her lazily, highlighting the contours of her face beautifully.
She worked steadily through the night. Paying no heed to sleepiness and hunger or the maddening aches of her muscles. She concentrated on that sole series of action. Not betraying any emotion.
Mustering all ofher strenght, digging out a grave.
The last rays of the moon carressed her cheeks softly, almost lovingly. Pale shafts of pink from the glorious dawn started to reach out to her, claiming her. The sky was a breathtaking mix of pink and blue.
She stopped and stared blankly ahead. Slowly, she turned to her side.
His pale blond hair shifted and dance with a light morning breeze. He looked perfect, even now. Lying there peacefully, looking very much like an angel.
Perfect.
Except for the streak of dried blood on his cheek from his mouth. His eyes were closed. Grey orbs that won't open again. A large gash lay open on his side, caked with dry blood. On his finger a simple ring covered with stones.
Trembling, she pressed her soft pink lips on those hard blue ones. Tears finally falling.
Drops of pearls falling.
'I have to tell you something.'
His eyes shone with happiness; hers shone with tears.
She bit her lip and closed her eyes. He was saying something she couldn't comprehend.
Looking straight into his eyes, she plunged the dagger swiftly at his side.
Her tears fell as she stood still, as he slid, lifeless, to the floor.
"I'm sorry." she whispered, as she ran her hand through his hair.
She dragged his body to the pit. A single blood soaked red rose fell from his pocket.
"I love you." she brought her trembling fingers to her lips, then pressed them on his.
She hastily threw the dirt and rubble back with him. Creating a small mound on the forest floor. Barely containing her emotions, she hastilyran back up to the castle.
From the bloody rose, rolled out a single silver ring, intricately covered with emeralds and rubies.
It lay on the dirt alone.
Never to be known.
Never to be found again.
A/N: yup that's an engagement ring...Feel free to decide why did dhe kill him..
