Leia's Hero

(Inspiration: listening to "Holding Out for a Hero" from Shrek II while reading StarWars fanfic by Limelight)

She awoke with a smarting head and a few smart swears for the stormtrooper that did this to her. Leia sighed as she tried to sit up. Though with the way they die at the first sight of a blaster, I won't ever get the satisfaction…

Her eyes slowly focused on the surrounding room. Her heart lurched. She knew it couldn't be the same room. That room was destroyed. The death star was destroyed with that room. But this room seemed identical in eerie perfection.

She started to panic. The memories flooding back in torrents. The needles. The questions. Aldaran. The black cape. The breathing. Aldaran no more.

Leia closed her eyes. Focus. This can't be happening again. Focus! Think. Luke and Han were right behind you. You were just about to head though the doors to get to the hanger. Han was taking out a few followers. Luke was trying to say something about the force…and something. Oh Gods! What if he was there. Luke and him have this weird knowledge of each others presence or something. What if Vader was there waiting for us.

Leia braced herself with her arm on the bench she was sitting on. Her head was soaked with sweat. No. Focus. They wouldn't have left you. Leia doubted herself. She had been lecturing them on how the cause was more important than anyone of them. What if they actually listen to her for once? She felt sick.

The blast doors opened. Leia took in some air and went ridged. This is it.

"Aren't you a bit scruffy looking for a stormtrooper?" She smiled despite herself.

A/N: This was written in about 2 minutes and I don't even want to think about what is wrong with it. Please tell me what you think and understand that I have only even read 2.5 Starwars books (and not even the major awesome ones). Hope you find something enjoyable in this (at least the title...heehee)…and yes it is just a one shot.
