Birds of a Feather

Author's Note: This is just a simple experiment with Teen Titans fanfiction. I'm not sure if I'll ever write another, but I hope you like this one-shot.

Robin stood quietly in the doorway of Raven's room. Sure, she locked the door, but it never stood a chance against Robin's advanced skill. Plus, he'd been picking it for so long.
The reason Robin was there was nowhere near as simple as the fact that he was. If you were to walk in on him standing there, he would swear it was because he was checking up on everyone.
But that would be a lie.
Truth be told, not even Robin was sure why he was there. But he'd been coming into Raven's room at about three in the morning every day for about two months or so. There was just…something comforting about hearing Raven's slow, steady breathing that calmed in a way nothing else could.
Robin realized with the skip of a heartbeat that he loved her. That was an odd conclusion to come to at…he checked the clock…three forty in the morning.
Well, maybe not so odd. What was that annoying saying about birds? Ah, yes. Birds of a feather, flock together. Maybe that was the truth.
Maybe, Robin was in love.
He pondered the thought for a few moments, but was quickly snapped out of his reverie by the sound of Raven sighing and turning over in her sleep. Robin froze. He could just imagine the awkward conversation that would come out of Raven awaking, followed quickly by Robin's dismemberment.
Robin took the paranoia running like ice water through his veins as a sign to go back to bed. He turned to leave, but, from the doorway, softly whispered, "I love you." Funny, really, how right that felt.

Not a minute after Robin had left, Raven sat straight up in bed. "Why can't he ever say that to my face?" she demanded of the darkness. She got no reply.
