He didn't understand those damn pet names.
Kuro-myu! The magician would squeal. Kuro-pi! Kuro-tan!
Why the hell did that damn man insist on torturing him?
And why the hell wasn't that idiot dead?
If any one else had been like this, they would be long gone, sent into the next world. But Fai was still here, despite all of his threats.
Because of his smile.
The smile that didn't reach his blue eyes. A smile that slipped off like a mask in constant use. The saddened expressions that appeared when he thought no one was looking.
Fai was sinking further into depression, his mask slipped off more and Kurogane was caught.
For once he felt useless, incapable of doing what he wanted. He didn't even know what he wanted to do, so that may have been part of it.
All he could do was let the magician act. Let the idiot tease him and mock him with the demented pet names. It was all he could do, because he didn't have any other plans.
