I wrote this over a year ago, and I've never gotten it to feel quite right. This seems to be the best it's gotten, though, so here you go. Don't mind the date at the bottom. I usually date my work, a habit I doubt I'll be breaking any time soon, so you can ignore it, if you like. It's really just there for my own reference. You know the drill - read, review, and all that funky stuff.
Disclaimer: This work is based on characters and situations that, alas, I do not own.I'm not making any money offof this, and no copyright infringement is intended, so no suing, please. This piece of writing, however, is mine, so don't take it without my permission, etc.
Requiem
How mournful and sweet ring their voices
through the ears of passers-by.
Unbeknownst how each will interpret.
A thousand memories, a tear for what was
Lost in heart, bitter to taste,
The song the wood-elves sing.
