Author's Note: This was a spur of the moment fic, you know? Anyway, this is RikuXSora although it can be looked at as friendship, they're my OTP so I intended it to be 'romance'. Hope you enjoy it!

In The End
It was a dark night in Traverse Town. Darker than most.
Sora walked the streets with the key blade at his side. He had just gotten back from sealing Atlantica. Two things were wrong, he noted. Usually if he took a step ten heartless would attack him. The other was a pair of eyes that watched him. Sora thought he knew who the eyes belonged to but he hadn't felt them in so long.
Several minutes later he arrived in front of the water fountain. Suddenly, all the lights from the surrounding buildings turned off. The only light left was the fountain's soft glow. This was where the confrontation would take place.
"Sora," a voice called. So familiar yet distant.
Sora turned to the side, identifying the voice's owner. Even in the dark he could tell who the figure was.
"Riku," Sora answered.
Riku pushed off the wall he had been leaning against. He walked towards Sora with a purpose.
"Sora, you know that I've accepted the darkness within me," Riku told him.
"Even though I think it's a stupid decision," he voiced.
"That's your opinion," Riku replied.
"As your friend I'd think you'd take my opinion more seriously," Sora glared.
"Who could take you seriously?" he asked.
"This isn't the time for jokes!" Sora yelled.
"You're right, it isn't the time," he agreed.
"Why did you come here? To make fun of me?" Sora questioned.
"Not at all. I wanted to explain something," Riku answered.
"So explain," he said angrily.
"Sora don't be mad," Riku sighed.
"How can I not be mad? My best friend's talking about how great it is to be evil!" Sora exclaimed.
"Everyone has some darkness in them," he told Sora.
"That doesn't mean you have to go and join the bad guys," Sora countered.
"Would you just listen to me?" Riku asked.
"Fine," he answered.
"Even though I have accepted the darkness it can control me," Riku told him.
"What do you mean?" he questioned.
"I mean that at any time it could take me over, mind and body," Riku replied.
"Can't you fight it?" Sora asked desperately.
"I don't know if I'll be able to. The darkness is continuing to grow," he explained.
"Well try harder!" Sora yelled.
"It's not that simple. What I'm trying to say is that I might hurt you," he told Sora.
"You won't be able to recognize me?" Sora asked angrily.
"Not if I'm being controlled!" Riku shouted.
"Why are you telling me this?" he questioned.
"I want you to stop me," Riku replied.
"What do you mean?" he asked warily.
"If I attack you I don't want you to just stand there," Riku answered.
"I'll be able to handle it!" he argued.
"I won't be able to hold back," Riku told him.
"What do you want me to do? Attack you?" Sora asked heatedly.
"I want you to fight me in the end," he replied.
"How can you say that so calmly? You're my best friend!" Sora yelld.
"Your 'best friend' could end up killing you!" he shouted back. "I should head back. I wasn't supposed to be here."
Riku turned away and retreated to the shadows. He quickly vanished from Sora's view.
The lights of the buildings began to flicker on. Sora had been left alone with his thoughts. He slowly lowered so that he could sit on the edge of the fountain. Even with all the lights surrounding him, Sora had never once felt this alone in the dark.
Author's Note: Would you believe me if I said this fic was written around the line 'Fight me in the end'? I hope you liked this. Thanks for reading and I really do hope you'll review!
