Starfire stood at the top of the WAYNE enterprises perched at the top of the giant N, her rusty red hair blowing in autumn's dark breeze. She frowned, looking down and shuffling her feet to the spot where Robin had stood, in the moment which she had known that Robin would always be hers. She looked down; the A&Y still shattered from the smoke bombs, broken pieces of glass littering the top of the building. Behind her, a still figure stood, cloaked in shadow. "Hey Star," he whispered softly. She turned around.

"Robin. I… I… earth is a very strange and wonderful place."

They both stood, watching the blood red sun set silently in the distance, leaving behind an endless field of stars, burning brightly in the sky, leaves and litter swirling around their feet in an endless dance. Starfire knew that if she didn't speak now, then they'd never reach the topic.

"Robin, the truth is, I do not think I wish to share it with you any longer." Robin's eyes opened wider in surprise, and anger, quickly cooled down when Starfire drew away slightly, his sudden movement catching her off guard. "I thought you loved me Star, you said it, did you mean it?"

"Robin, I say nothing I do not mean, but if I continue to see you like this,"

"We won't get caught."

"But Robin, I do not think…"

Robin put his finger to Starfire's lips, his touch quickly silencing any dought in her mind. "It'll be okay; this is me, that wasn't. Can't we just forget the past?"

"Robin, if you are willing to sacrifice the safety of the city for my safety, then perhaps it is not a good idea for us to be together. How much would you compromise for my safety?"

Starfire turned away. "I could not handle the pain of being your demise, you can have me, or you can have your spot as a hero."

Robin's look of love was replaced by a look of pain. Choose between Starfire and his life, there was really no competition. "Starfire..." Starfire turned around hopefully. "I have to go." Robin stalked back to the tower, leaving Starfire to cry.
