A/N: This may have been done before, maybe not. Nonetheless, this was inspired from reading Vladimir the Hamster's poems… don't ask how. Oh yeah, standard disclaimers apply: Legend of Zelda is Nintendo's intellectual property, and I in no way challenge that.

Rising, Falling… Waiting

From the mountains haloed by light
Flowed the life giving form of Heaven's breath.
Yet to the screams of the broken and the whine of debris
The wind did not bring life, but death.

Our people stood with valour, behind Farore's might,
For we believed by the Hero our people would live strong.
Yet as the wind blew, we all had to agree,
That you – our Hero – were gone.

You left us harsh Hero you left us you left and we paid the cost
As the evil so cruel so complete so deft against our failing wills crossed.
And so of hope we were bereft and left to feel the edge of our souls' frost
As you Hero committed the ultimate theft, for now forever we were lost.

So to the Goddesses we gave our plight
Hoping, crying, begging that our people will survive.
To answer came from the clouds, the waters, the sea
That the evil shall be held back until the Hero will arrive.

So as the valleys and fields sink from sight
So as we suffered the perpetual attack,
We call to you, heads bowed, this one plea:
Hero of Time, we beg of you… Come back.

A/N: The Legend of Zelda main theme… is beauty unadulterated and complex in its happy, simplistic way. In case anyone noticed, the fat middle chunk was meant to convey desperation, panic. If that wasn't noticed… damn. Some of you may notice this rhyming scheme, and for those that do, please comment on whether you think it worked or not and why. Hope you enjoyed.
