This would be my first attempt at Furuba, or Fruits Basket. I am undecided by the pairings, they all seem so appealing. Therefore, as a result, …you get; One sided Yuki x Tohru, Kyo x Tohru and hints at Yuki x Haru, Kyo x Kagura.
Pointless drabble.

Tohru could not choose between them. They were even. She favored neither and treasured the friendships she had with each of them evenly. They were competitive young men and if her heart could have picked either man to be given too, she would feel like a prize to their game and nothing more.
She loved Yuki and Kyo like the family that had been taken away from her. Only together could they complete her. Her smile was warm and genuine, just as it had always been. The mouse and cat understood and in this battle between them, either won. They tied and yet lost.
Tohru had two brothers and always would have two.
Yuki returned her kosher smile with a saddened one and after dinner, he left the house. It was cold out and that night, he walked a lonely path. At the end of that empty trail though, he met Haru's wandering face and when his body trembled at its weakest, he transformed into a little gray rodent, at his feet, innocent and on rock bottom.
Kyo only nodded and hid his scarlet eyes behind his orange bangs. Supper was quieter amid the four of them, until a knock rapped against the wood of the front door. She came to visit them, the wild boar and chased the cat onto the roof. He sat up there as the chilly night let fall its pristine flakes and when Kagura joined him, she stroked the fur of the soft feline, at his lowest point.
