His words still echoed throughout the forest as Kagome ran deeper and deeper into the forest, tears streaming down her face, her sobs muffled by the forest canopy. Branches scratched at her face, clung to her cloths and tangled themselves into her hair. But her sobs could not be heard.

What would you do if I told you that I like you?

The memory of telling Inuyasha she loved him still burned in her mind.

"I saw you with her again," Kagome said stiffly to him.

"Why does it matter if I was with Kikyo or not? It's my business what I do, not yours!" Inuyasha muttered darkly.

"It matters because I love you!" Kagome yelled.

What would you do if I told you that I love you?

Kagome tripped on a root protruding from the forest floor and fell flat on her face.

Kagome pressed her lips hard against Inuyasha's, who shoved her away from him, yelling at her, "What the hell are you doing wench!"

What would you do if I kissed you?

Kagome's body shook as her sobs filled the erie silence that had surrounded her, the hot tears refusing to subside. Her heart ached in pain, it felt as if Inuyasha had ripped her heart out from her chest. She knew what she had to do.

"I'm sorry Inuyasha, I'm so sorry," she whispered as she sat up taking the knife from its sheath and placed the tip of it over her heart.

What would you do…

She plunged the knife deep into her chest.

"I love you Inuyasha."

She gave one final gasp as her body shuddered before her lifeless body hit the forest floor.

If I committed suicide?

The leaves crunched beneath his feet as he reached her pale eternally sleeping form, the knife still plunged into her heart.

"Kagome…" He fell to his knees and cradling her motionless body, he wept. His hot tears fell onto her pale face as he sobbed her name over and over again, begging her, "Kagome…Kagome please wake up, please…" But she did not wake up. With trembling lips he kissed her cold lips one last time and carried her limp form back to the village.

What would you do if you lost me and you never got to tell me how you really felt?

Inuyasha emerged from the forest carrying Kagome's lifeless body as the hot tears poured down his face.

"Inuyasha! Is Kagome…." Shippou's voice trailed off.

"Come Shippou, let us leave our friend so he may say his final goodbye to Kagome."

Sango sobbed into Miroku's robes as the walked back to the village with Shippou not far behind.

Would you shed a single tear?

Inuyasha lept into the well into Kagome's era ad carried her to the shrine. Mrs. Higurashi burst from the front door, fear rising from deep within her chest.

"Mrs. Higurashi-"

"Inuyasha what's wrong with Kagome? Why isn't she breathing? Why is there blood everywhere? Why isn't she waking up?"

Inuyasha fell to his knees.

What would you do knowing that I will never take another breath again? Never look at you with love in my eyes again? Never kiss you again? What would you do knowing that you'd never be able to hold me again? Or hear my voice?

"I couldn't save her. And it's my fault she's dead. The last thing I told her was that I hated her, but I love her! Do you hear me Kagome! I love you!" But his words fell on deaf ears as Kagome's heart continued to beat no more.
