A notch on the wall

Lily pulled away slowly; almost gasping for breath. She didn't know how she had ended up on James Potter's lap, how she had ended up kissing him like that. She hadn't even known she knew how to kiss like that! Lily had been trying to prevent this from happening. She had tried to tell herself that she wasn't falling for him; that he wasn't the hottest, sweetest guy she had ever known. That he was that arrogant jerk that she had known for the past 6 years. And look where that had landed her!

But she also knew that she didn't want to be anywhere else on the planet. She wanted to stay like this forever; resting her forehead against his, smiling at him, starring into his eyes. She could feel his hot breath on her neck, sending shivers down her spine. He leaned in again and swept her up in a breathtaking kiss; drawing it out, making her go crazy. She ran her fingertips up his sides and around to his shoulders; eventually playing with his hair at the nape of his neck. He combed his hand threw her hair, resting it on the back of her head, pulling her even closer to him. Lily couldn't take it anymore. The slowness of the kiss was driving her up the wall. She wanted to taste him, wanted to feel his tongue on her own.

James could feel the desire behind her kiss, and willingly traced his tongue along her lower lip, making her moan into him. He smiled into the kiss. After several more minutes, they came up for air, although lily kept her hand on his side, slowly running her fingertips up and down under his shirt.

"James" it came out as a hoarse whisper. "I like you; a lot. i may even..."she paused here "...love you.But I need to know that I'm not going to be just another notch on the wall. Either this is gona be the real thing, or nothing at all."

It half killed her to say this, expecting the worse. But he only smiled and pulled her in again for a short, intoxicating touch of the lips.

"All I've ever wanted lily; was you. I love you more than life itself; I would never be so stupid as to let you go now that I have you in my arms." Lily grinned and kissed him once again, not needing to answer. Well, not needing to answer with words anyway.
