The snow white lillies danced along with the soft zephry. Rinoa's coat tail flew out and swaggered in the wind with the flowers and blades of lush green grass. The milky moonlight brought everything to life under a luminous light. In the center of the seeming-eternal fields rested a set of lovers who wereresting in each other's arms.
Rinoa looked up at Squall, she could see the moonlight reflecting in his deep eyes. "Tonight feels so perfect." She almost released tears of joy but caught herself in Squall's embrace. She burried her head into his chest, his heart agianst her ear.
She could feel a chuckle brewing in Squall's insides. He let out the light but heartfilled laugh, causing her to once agian revert her attention to Squall.
"What is it?" She asked playfully.
"N-nothing, it's nothing," he assured with a smile but let out another chuckle before he could finish.
"Squall! You're not telling me something." She drew out his name playfully.
"I just feel so. . .alive." It's as if his words soared alive from his lips, which quickly formed into a smile. "Being here with you is like being in heaven. I want this moment to last forever."
Rinoa's face lost all color for a moment as she brought her head down. Make this moment last forever. . .is that possible? I know Squall will be with me and protect me. . .but can we really make this moment last forever? Her pupils enlarged widely as she began to realize something.
Squall's smile also faded away as a look of worry washed over his face. "What's wrong? Was it something I said?" His words were starting to choke in his throat.
His words sliced through her thoughts, her confusion. Rinoa jerked her head up and quickly smiled at Squall. "Nothing Squall, it was nothing." Everytime I start to think something will go wrong, Squall's voice ensures me that everything will be okay. His prescences destroys my doubt. . .I'm so lucky! She noticed how Squall returned to a beaming smile.
"Good, I wouldn't want anything to ruin this moment." He ran his right hand through her raven hair and quickly brought his fingers back to her face. He stroked her face and couldn't help but smile as his heart beat with love. "Rinoa. . .I'm so honored to be your knight."
Rinoa's flesh flushed a bright cherry red. "Oh Squall," she giggled. She then turned her eyes to his, looking him straight into his pupils. "Promise me you'll be my knight forever."
"Forever," he replied with a grin.
She jumped tighter into his embrace, placing her lips upon his and engaging in a passionate kiss. Rinoa's whole body felt alive, every single cell in her body exploded with life. Her heart beat in rythm with Squall's.
Here with Squall. . .I feel so alive. She took her right hand and ran her silky finger agianst the scar on Squall's face. Rinoa entered into Squall's warm arms and she burried herself into his broad chest once agian, feeling peaceful, feeling at home.
Squall looked at her and smiled, speaking with all his heart. "Forever and always."
And the two lovers stood under the silvery moon, in the field of angelwing-white lilies, holding each other and holding on to everything that they loved.
Final Fantasy one-shots are the best! Haha, I loved writing this. Rinoa and Squall are one of my favorite couples. And this was fun to write. I started to throw in a little angst with Rinoa, but decided not to go TOO far into that area. I wanted to kind of play around with the whole Rinoa-Ultemecia theory, maybe it turned out.
