Disclaimer: JK Rowling owns the Harry Potter universe.
A plot bunny came over to me during a boring class discussion at school so I
decided to make this a back-to-back vignette with Draco's and Hermione's
perspectives. This turned out well but I thought it was awkward at some points.
Might/will edit once my muse is back and running. (Needs a permanent muse.)
A review is very welcome and would really help in editing this.
Dreams
He saw her again. Finally.
He gasped and breathed out a sigh of relief… and longing.
He noticed that she stopped dancing under the rain at the sound of his breath.
Slowly, she turned to look at the intruder of her midnight activity that washes away her sadness and blocks out her memories. Upon contact with his eyes, recognition lighted up her face and she held out her hand for him to dance with her.
Hair sticking to her face, smile radiating warmly, clothes clinging to her body, eyes clouding with unshed tears, he thought that she was even more beautiful than he had remembered. Like wine becoming more intoxicating through time.
They danced. They cried. They laughed. They kissed. Like children who parted for school and reunited once more during summer. This is their summer in the coldness of war and he was making sure every second with her would not be wasted.
Under the midnight sky, he saw the outline of her jaw and traced it with kisses. Chaste became passionate. Slow became fervent. He would never let her go, he promised. But sometimes, fate breaks promises.
Abruptly, he woke up and found himself in the middle of war once again.
It was only just a dream.
