Nemo is coming home from school; it's a typical day. As he swims into his house, he sees a woman. Not knowing who she is, he assumes this is his Dad's girlfriend, Patty.
"Hey," Nemo says casually. The new fish takes one look at Nemo and starts crying. Nemo is taken aback, had he say something wrong?
"I-Im sorry, did I do something wrong?" asks Nemo. The sobbing girl gently shakes her head and says,
"No honey... You don't know who I am do you?"
"Well," starts Nemo. "I am pretty sure your Dad's girlfriend, Patty." The new girl flinches at the sound of girlfriend, but immediately recovers.
"Um, not exactly. I am you mother." Nemo stares at this lady wondering if his dad didn't tell him something about his girlfriend...
With that, Choral begins to tell the story of her woeful past years. By the end, Nemo is tearing up.
"M-m-Mom?"
"Oh I missed you honey!" Nemo and Choral embrace while Merlin looks on with a frown.
"What's wrong Merlin?" Choral asks.
"Look, you come here after a year of, well, not being here! Now you expect me to live like nothing happened, like my heart want ripped to pieces, and like Patty never came into my life! Well I can't do that!" Merlin stormed out mumbling something to Nemo about work.
Merlin was aghast, what should he do?
