Chapter 2
Jack Napier was thirty five at the time, and he had waited only a day after finding an apartment for himself and Miss Quinn, when he decided to go looking for a job. Now, with a white face, Jack probably wouldn't get many jobs. However, with all the money he had stolen last time previous to his last arrest, which, of course, had never been found, Jack never really needed to find a job.Jack was just out to please Miss Quinn, who really hadn't stopped nagginghim since we got the apartment. As Jack was heading towhere he had stowed the money, Batman showed up.
"Hello Batman" Jack said to him.
"What are you up to this time, Joker?" Batman asked of him.
"Nothing. I got realised about a week ago after being declared medically sane."
"Really? Well, it doesn't matter I'm going to keep my eye on you!" and Batman left.
Jack kept walking, and found the money where He had hidden it. He was taking the money back to Miss Quinn, but only after stopping at the jewellery store. Of course, He hadn't remembered about his face, so his intentions were mistaken. Batman was called to the scene rather quickly. Jack tried to explain, but it didn't convince the owner of the store. When Batman arrived, he immediately looked at me and narrowed his eyes.
"Stop right there Joker!" He said, "What made you think you could get away with it?"
"Get way with what?" Jack replied, "Buying something from the jewellery store?"
This took Batman by surprise. "What would you need jewellery for?"
"For my girlfriend, of course."
"What type of girl would be…? You mean Harley?"
"Yes, I mean Miss Quinn. Since I was no longer medically insane, liking me wasn't either. Therefore she got released at the same time as me."
Batman almost looked amused. "How did she trick you into that?" He asked.
"She didn't." Jack replied, "She doesn't know I'm about to buy a ring for her."
To emphasise his point, he then walked over to the front desk, saw a particularly beautiful ring, and asked to buy it. The person looked at him stunned, but soon complied with his wishes. After buying the ring, Jack said "Good day" and left.
