In that one moment

A/N- A poem on the last battle in front of the black gate, from Gandalf's view. Please Review.

Disclaimer- I own not Tolkien's world. Hence why I call myself Larien and not Tolkien.

In that one moment I felt my heart lift

In that one moment I felt our fate shift.

For one brief second my joy was alight

For one brief second, the eagles took flight

In one quick glance I saw it destroyed

In one quick glance, it was lost in the void

With one loud cheer, I heard others yell

With one loud cheer, another orc fell

Then one loud crash, and the mountain blew apart

Then one loud crash, and glass ripped at my heart

With that startling crack the sky grew dim

With that startling crack, his chances grew slim

That single tear swam down my face

That single tear away my joy did chase

That billowing silence that had taken hold

That billowing silence during we all felt cold

That smoke spewing from the mountain top

That smoke spewing and didn't stop

A despairing wail from hobbits behind
A despairing wail that echoed with mine

In that one moment I felt my heart drop

In that one moment I looked to the mountain top.
