Broken Promises: Prequel
Blood.
That was all Sasuke saw when he stumbled, bloody, into this small community hidden in the Country of Wave. Bodies where everywhere. Men, women, young or old. It's clearly shown that whoever attacked them showed no mercy on whoever they are.
This was supposed to be a C class mission. Just knock some senses to the lunatic that was running wild here. But worse came to worse and that supposedly lunatic is actually a missing Nin.
And now, seeing the bloody massacres, Uchiha Sasuke accepted defeat. His mission failed. All of his comrades are dead and he will too, in a few moments.
But he still wants to live. He has to. His goal is still waiting to be completed. Someone was still waiting for him in Konoha, praying that he will come back with that usual arrogant smirk of his. She waited long enough for him. He promised he wouldn't die. He has to keep that promise, for him and for her.
And as a sakura petal flew past him, he fell and everything turned black. That was the last thing he saw.
"Sakura…"
