Forgiven at the click of her Fingers

'Fine then, if that's how you feel, then take me home' Rose snapped, The doctor froze on the spot, his back still turned away from her, his arms crossed over his chest. Rose grinned, she'd worked out quickly enough that if she pulled that stunt by telling him she wanted to go home he would turn and everything would be forgiven at the click of her fingers. Only, she had yet to work out how much it hurt the doctor to hear her say such a thing.

It hurt him so much that she hated him so badly she wanted to leave. His face fell into despair and misery, only thinking what would happen next after she'd returned her TARDIS key and slammed the door. For affect and tease, she turned to leave but as she turned her back the doctor moved and grabbed her by the shoulders so fast she barely had the time to lift her foot off the ground to walk away.

They stood like that; his hands on her shoulders for a very long time before Rose noticed how close he was and the hurt on his face from her latest words. For the first time in her life, she couldn't think of anything to say, that was very unusual but the doctor broke the silence for her.

'Don't you ever say that again, don't even think you want to go home and leave…' the words stuck in his throat, he forced out the last word '…me' Rose stared at him he considered after coming out with that he better make more of it, 'I don't think I could bare it' he finished as he shook her gently to make sure she'd gotten the message. She suddenly raised herself to silence him with a firm but passionate kiss.
