She's No You
Chapter 1
Nikki quickly put down the phone when she heard someone coming.It was her older brother, Bradin. He was on the phone with his gf, Melinda. Bradin and Melinda have been going out for about a month and Bradin felt as if things were going a little down hill. And Nikki was listening on his private conversation. Nikki ran into her room when Bradin came up.He walked into his room and grabbed his surfboard.
Ever since Aunt Ava said they were gonna move over to Maine he was gonna have to leave her behind. He felt as if it were on another planet in another galaxy than across the world. He didn't want to leave. But he had no choice. When he thought about it Maine didn't seem so bad. It still had beaches to surf in, but he wondered if there were gonna be huge waves crashing down. And he wondered if there was gonna be any girls like Melinda.
They were leaving in a month. He was so upset he couldn't think straight. Neither could Melinda. She wasn't exactly so chipper herself. She didn't want Bradin to leave either but what could she do? She was losing her boyfriend. The only guy who loved her for who she is. No other guy she dated thought that way.
They just dated her because she was popular and her looks. Bradin dated her for her personality. Anyway, Bradin was going to visit Melinda at the beach. He walked out the door and just practically flew down to the beach. When he got there he saw Melinda sitting on a rock out by the ocean. Bradin walked over stuck his surfboard in the sand and sat down next to her.
The first thing that came out of Melinda's mouth was "How much time?" "Huh?" Bradin asked confused. "How much time?" Melinda repeated. Getting what she meant Bradin replied "A month." Melinda said nothing but just stare out to sea. After a while Melinda said "I'm gonna miss you." Bradin looked at her sadly and replied "I'm gonna miss you too. I love you." Melinda started to cry silently and said "I love you to Bradin." She kissed him and layed her head on his shoulder.
They sat like that for awhile until Bradin said "Um, wanna go surfing now? Time is passing and I wanna spend as much time in the water as I can….and after we can maybe go get a bite to eat?" Melinda lifted her head off his shoulder and replied "Sure Bradin. That'd be great." They got up, grabbed their boards and got in the water.
They sat in the ocean waiting for a wave when one finally came. They both nailed it and high fived eachother. (Yeah I know it's a little strange but its MY story. OK?) The sun was almost setting so they got out and headed out to the restaurant for dinner. Bradin payed for it like the gentleman he was.
After a dinner full of laughing Bradin walked Melinda home. They stopped at her driveway and Bradin said "Well I guess I'll see ya tomorrow." "Yeah you better." Melinda replied smiling. Bradin kissed goodnight and watched her walk inside her house. Bradin then whispered "You will Mel. You will."
