A/N- Not my usual style, as you know, but I figured, hey, I gave Sirius a poem, so why not give Dumbledore one, he surely deserves it. So here is my "tribute to Dumbledore." Please R/R! I need feedback on this kind of sad poetry thing, and what better way to do that than reviews?

Disclaimer- Harry Potter not mine. Comprendé? And if it was? Dumbledore and Sirius (especially Sirius, who I still love like crazy) would still be alive and kickin'.

A Phoenix Song by BeachBum754

Twinkling eyes that always laughed

A mouth with corners forever upturned

Memories that will eternally last

But there was so much left to learn!

Too soon the loss, too late the tears

The phoenix was too late to heal

The sudden death that seemed so false

And yet was irreversibly real.

He always took the blame

Kept pain and hurt at bay

Now there's no shield for all the anguish

No one to say it will be okay.

The ultimate, the good, the great

Has left a hole in all our hearts

That long white beard, those bright blue eyes

Are now a broken world apart…

There has to be a loophole;

This has to be a lie;

That's not his body lying there,

Dumbledore surely couldn't die.

And yet those half-moon spectacles

To any other could not belong,

And so it's true, and all that's left

Is a great legacy and a phoenix song.
