A Vision into another World
Chapter 1: The Dream
Harry woke in a cold sweat. As he untangled himself from his bed-sheets he pushed his glasses on to his nose. Harry left his bed, walked carefully to a window and sat down.
This had been the way Harry Potter had been spending his nights for the past month. A reoccurring vision had been haunting his dreams, and lately, his daytime thoughts. Harry sighed, and once again let his mind wander to the nightmare plaguing his thoughts.
There had been a girl; someone he had never seen before, yet something about her seemed familiar. Harry could tell she was in pain, but her captor was always hooded in shadow. Somehow, Harry felt a strange affection for the girl he could neither explain nor describe. The mysterious figure in the darkness only made a move to reveal itself just as Harry woke.
Harry had experienced a dream like this before. That one had been of a long corridor that ended up being the Department of Mysteries inside the Ministry of Magic, that dream had also resulted in Sirius Black's murder. Remembering this, Harry recalled the words of the imposter-Moody. 'Constant vigilance, Harry' he had said. Harry made a note to himself to honor that advice. Harry wished desperately that Dumbledore would be at Hogwarts, so Harry could go to him for council, but he knew that upon returning to Hogwarts in the fall there would be no Dumbledore to greet him… he was dead. Bringing this difficult memory to life, Harry was quickly lost in thought of the past.
"Harry?"
The sound of his name quickly snapped Harry back to reality. Harry looked about himself and found Ron staring at him with interest.
"Sorry," Harry responded quickly. "What time is it anyway?" Ron stifled a yawn and collapsed onto his bed.
"'Bout 4 AM. I'm going back to sleep." True to his word, within the next few minutes Ron's snores filled the room. Harry closed his eyes, exhaled, and got back into his bed. He would leave his worries until morning.
A/N: so?
