Disclaimer: I do not own the Series of Unfortunate Events-whereas Mister Lemony Snicket does. Though i have a huge crush on one Liam Aiken-Klaus in the movies
She pushed her strawberry blond hair back as she stepped up to the door of the mansion. She placed her only suitcase next to her on the door step as she reached up and knocked on the door. The door opened and she was lead inside to the office where the owner sat waiting for her. As soon as she received her room number she quickly walked to it a nd set her suitcase by the door and headed towards the office again, tying a apron around her waist. She was hired at this mansion to be a maid, a maid for the newly built Baudelare Mansion.
"You will be keeping after my brother and sister. We will treat you like a member of this family, for you are an orphan also. But I do expect for you to earn your keep." The eldest child-and owner of the mansion-paced in front of me. She looked up and smiled, "Welcome to the family, you can call me Violet." She held out her hand and she shook it smiling lightly. "Come." Violet led her out of the office and down towards her sibling's rooms.
"I ask all you do is keep their room's tidy and their laundry clean. Keep them company if they ask for it." She nodded. Violet stopped at a door that read, 'Klaus.' She knocked on it and opened it, "This is my brother's room, Klaus. You'll have to keep after him the most because Sunny has her own Nanny." She nodded and they proceded into the room. "Klaus?" A boy with messy brown hair poked his head out of a door.
"Yes, Violet?" Violet motioned for the boy to come closer. And closer he did, taking off his reading glasses as he did. "Who's this?"
"This, Klaus," Violet smiled, "Will be keeping your room clean for you, she's going to clean up and do you're laundry." Klaus nodded and looked around his room rubbing his neck and smiling sheepishly.
"Well there's a lot to clean up!" He looked to his sister and then the girl. He held out his hand, "Klaus Baudelare." She shook it.
"Licia Parker."
"Well I'll leave you two to get accainted and clean your room. You will be helping, Klaus. Licia, Sunny's room is the next door to your right, I just ask that you pick up her laundry and clean it when you do Klaus'." Violet smiled and closed the door behind her as she stepped out.
Klaus smiled at Licia, "I know you from somewhere, just can't remember it. It'll come to me. Well shall we get started?"
And start they did. For several hours Licia and Klaus toiled under the lights of his room, cleaning and placing things where they belonged. There was a gargantine pile of laundry by the time they were done. And in those few hours Licia and Klaus had become good friends. Licia flopped onto the floor and leaned against the pile of laundry. Klaus sat on his bed watching her.
"Klaus! Licia! Dinner!" Violets room rang through the intercom. Klaus and Licia filed out of the door leaving the room spotless-which in this case meant everything was put away except for the foot high pile of laundry near the door.
