Chapter 1- The Phantom's Promise
Christine took one-step back to try to read the look on Erik's face. She then walked away to find Raoul. She could not stand the feeling of the ring on her finger though so she went back. Erik was sitting there with his monkey music box, singing the song that would flood her mind forever. She stood listening to his words for about five minutes before he looked up at her, "Christine, why are you leaving me?"
"I can't stay with you. I can only give you my love and that is it."
"What are you doing here then?"
"I came to give you this." She said taking the ring off her finger.
Then she walked away again and he went back to singing. She walked slowly to listen to the heavenly sound of his voice.
"Masquerade paper faces on parade.
Masquerade hide your face so the world will
Never find you."
The song turned into another as she walked onto the boat,
"Share with me one love, one lifetime."
Though the only song she could hear was the one playing in her head.
She could hear every word even when they were beyond the range of hearing him.
Erik remembered what he never said to her, "I love you Christine. I always will. I will come for you."
