Chapter 2- What happens next?
Erik walked around in his underground castle, his lair, his kingdom of music swearing that he would never love anyone but Christine. Christine walked around in her garden torn between marrying Raoul and going back to Erik. Raoul watched Christine and wondered if she would stay. Each person in his or her own world but all thinking the same thing.
Christine decided she would marry Raoul and live out the rest of her days in the harsh light of day. Raoul interests had turned to someone else by that time, Meg. Even then he still married Christine because yes he still loved her. So Christine went along with the arrangements for her wedding and Raoul started to go for Meg. Meg, innocent Meg was practicing her leaps when Raoul entered the Opera house, "You get better all the time, Meg. One day you shall be the greatest dancer in all Paris."
Meg replied, "Christine will wonder where you have gone off to. You should leave."
With
that Raoul left and went home. There he found Christine sitting at
the table, "Dinner was served over an hour ago. Where were you?"
"I
went to see an old friend."
"Meg?"
"Yes, she was happy to hear that you are well."
"That's good to hear."
2 weeks later
The wedding was over and now they went to the South of France for their honeymoon. Christine knew that Raoul had lost interest, she could tell by the way he kept staring at Meg. After a whole month they were back in Paris. She now dreaded this place and kept herself locked in the house. She would only go out if she needed to. One day she went to have a dress made and was out for several hours. Meg came over that day and Raoul quickly got her to the bedroom and they made love. Christine got home earlier then expected and caught them and ran out of the house and down the secret entrance to the Opera house. There Erik was waiting and greeted her with open arms.
