The End of Firefly Summer
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters in this, just the fluffy plot.
Pairing(s): Ron/Hermonie, Ginny/Harry
Warning: This is POST HBP, so if you haven't read the 6th Harry Potter book, don't read this. There's not huge spoilers, just mentions a few things that won't make any sense if you havent read it.
Comments: I came up with the title for this one first. It's usually write it, then title it for me, but I was out with my parents and it was sunset and my mom mentioned it was a caribbean sunset, and then started talking about fireflies. then the title just popped into my head and i started imagining this. So, it's a little different, but really sweet, and fluffy.
Harry sat with his arm around Ginny next to Ron who had his arm around Hermonie. Together, in silence the four of them sat on a hill watching the sunset.
"This is what I've heard my mom call a Caribbean sunset" Hermonie said softly staring at the streaks of orange and yellow, intermixed with the light blues of the sky. Ron smiled and pulled her closer to him, resting his chin on her head.
"It's so beautiful, it's like...like I dunno...god or someone saying everything is going to be ok." Ginny said glancing up at Harry's face. For once it wasn't tense with worry or fear. He seemed relaxed, and at ease, which was something that was almost foreign to him.
"I know what you mean Gin," he replied, kissing the top of her head.
"This is the end you know," Ron said, and Harry looked over at him with confusion written all over his face.
"What do you mean?"
"Well...it's the end of summer, isn't it? Ginny'll be going back to school, and well...the three of us will be going off to find those Horucuxes wont we?"
"I don't know what you mean Ron," Ginny said flatly. Ron shot her a warning look. "I'm not going back to Hogwarts. Not until this whole thing is finished. I want to help you three. I'd go insane sitting in there, wondering what you were doing, if you were ok, or if you were in danger. I wouldn't be able to stand it. So...you either let me come, or I'll stalk you."
Harry let out a soft snort of laughter, and kissed her head again. "Of course you can come Ginny." he said holding her close. "I don't know how your mum'll take it though."
"She'll have to deal with it. Because I'm not letting you go into all that danger, to risk your life without me being there with you." She said looking up at him.
"Well," Hermonie said slowly standing, "Let's make the best of it then shall we?" the all looked at her in confusion "let's catch fireflies!"
Ron laughed and stood up as well, putting his arm around her waist. "Sounds good to me," he said then pulled out his wand and conjured up a small container.
Harry and Ginny grinned and stood up, Harry too conjuring up a container. Then the four of them set out catching the fireflies and putting them in the containers, making the best of the end of the firefly summer.
