SYNOPSIS
Phoebe remembers a love
lost, yet that lost love has never forgotten her.
SETTING
The following is a
"missing" scene from season seven's Seven Year Witch, also
known as the show's milestone 150th episode.
AUTHOR'S NOTE
This was written in
response to Executive Producer Brad Kern: "Every time, when I
sat down to think about what we could do with them together in the
150th episode there just didn't seem to be anything else left to
play. She'd already mourned his loss. She'd already moved on." I
don't know where you've been, Brad, but if you think showing Phoebe
with various 'Slampieces' is "moving on," you're dead
wrong.

Phoebe entered her bedroom to find it just as she had left it that morning: empty. No man waited for her and no child was there to run into her arms.
As she walked towards her nightstand, however, she found something that was not supposed to be there. Something she hadn't seen before - or at least she had thought. She sat upon her bed and bit her bottom lip as the memory overtook her. It wasn't the magic of a premonition that forced her into the vision, but a desire deep within her heart - one she had tried so hard to deny and forget.
Phoebe snarled angrily, "Stand up. I said stand up!" Cole took off his wedding ring and placed it on the table. He did as he was commanded and faced them. Then replied:
"Come to vanquish me, have you?"
Phoebe looked from him to the scene around her. She noticed three things: a picture she had used to be fond of, with Cole and her looking so lovingly into each other's eyes; his wedding ring, gold and large to fit his finger; and last but not least, a letter - a cealed letter - one that good only contain words of love and farewell.
Presently, as she read the letter, words like "love always" and "love you" were smeared. What he was trying to say wouldn't register with her, and the words themselves could've been written in a foreign language. She had changed so much that she wasn't exactly sure of what he was talking about. Phoebe felt herself go numb and began to shake all over. She broke down, finally grieving the loss of her soulmate, her true love: Cole.
She began to quiet as Cole placed his arms around her, granting her some peace. Though she couldn't see him and he knew that, he felt like she might be able to know that he was there for her always — watching, protecting, and loving. Her tears stopped as she began to feel some familiar presence of love.
"Love always, Cole," she whispered, and couldn't grasp whether she was telling him this or she was simply reading his closing statement in the letter. But it felt right, so again, she said, "Love always."
