Summary: Rory just wants to forget about the kiss at Madeline's party, but Tristan can't.
A/N: This story was inspired by a great song I heard a little while ago. Tyler Hilton's "Meant Something To Me." I listened to the lyrics and BAM, it just hit me that they perfectly described how Tristan felt about the kiss he and Rory shared. If you listen to the song you'll understand what I mean. Anyway, on with the story!
Disclaimer: I don't own Gilmore Girls' characters or Tyler Hilton's song. So please don't sue.
Chapter 1
"So where's your boyfriend tonight?"
"He's...not my boyfriend anymore."
"Why not?"
"He didn't want to be."
"Idiot."
"So's Summer."
"You think you'll get back together?"
"He was pretty set in his decision."
"When did it happen?"
"Yesterday."
"Wow.
"It was our three month anniversary."
"That sucks."
"Yeah it does suck. Do you think you guys will?"
"No, no. No, no, no, no, no."
"So no?"
"No. Hey, I'm sorry I gave you such a hard time for a while."
"Oh that's okay."
"It is?"
"Well no, but you're sad."
"Yeah well. I am sorry."
"I accept your apology."
"Oh man, it's a great party huh?"
"Yeah not bad. It gave me a chance to catch up on my reading."
"You are very odd, you know that?"
"Thank you."
"You're welcome."
He leaned in and kissed her. Rory pulled away crying.
"I'm sorry, what did I do? Did I bite your lip or something?"
"No it's not you. It's just - I have to go."
And just like that, she left him. After he had taken a risk and show her that he wasn't just the rich playboy that everyone thought he was. As he sat on that lonely piano bench watching her rush out the door, all he could think now was, "What did I do wrong?"
Yes, yes, I know it's short. Most of it was just a flashback anyway (note the italics). Don't worry, I've got more coming. And cut me some slack- this is my first fanfic I've ever written. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing with this idea of mine.
