One Dance, One Night

I know I know I should be working on my other stories but I really really wanted to write this so I did. Anyways this is inspired by the wonderful Boublil and Schonberg musical called Miss Saigon.
Prologue
Blonde hair flew around in a whirl with the first explosion. When the second came her feet were already carrying her to her small home in her village. A thousand thoughts and emotions ran through her head at once, most settling around her family who were at home, her mother who was always there for her and her father who always wanted the best. "Where they okay?" Her small feet quickly picked up their speed.
When she rounded the corner she froze, here blue eyes flashing with worry. There was fire every where, people running trying to save what they could. She quickly regained her senses and began to make her way through the mayhem to her small family hut. As soon as it was in sight her stomach turned violently, it was in total ruins. She ran to it as quickly as she could and began searching the debris hoping against all hopes she wouldn't find her parents.
As soon as she saw a patch of silver hair all hope was lost. She swiftly removed the remaining rubble to pull her mother's broken body from the wreckage.
"Mama…" she called through her broken sobs.
"S…S…Serenity," her mother breathed "Serenity, remember your father and I will always love you and we…we always have. I don't have much time left, you need to leave before the armies come, you need to leave me."
"No, mama I won't leave you and papa. You're all I have."
"Go Serenity, do this one last thing for me if you ever loved me, leave us behind."
Serenity gently hugged her mother and laid her on the ground, "Good bye mama. You and papa will always be in my heart." With those last words Serenity's mother took her last breath and released her soul.
