The Pain of Future Wrongs – Chapter 27

"Wy...wyatt?" Ryan asked as his voice trembled.

"Miss me, little brother?" Wyatt answered with a frightening smirk. "You haven't been a very good boy, running off like that."

This time it was Piper who stood protectively in front of Ryan. "Maybe you ought to think about why your brother had to run away from you," she challenged.

"Mom," Wyatt said with mock hurt, "I would think that you would be happy about this reunion! After all, we haven't seen each other in years!"

"Considering that you turned out to be a heartless monster, I don't think I've been missing out on too much," Piper shot back, still finding it hard to believe that the man standing in front of her was her eldest son.

Wyatt smirked at Piper's response. Looking around the manor, he made his way to the couch and sat down. "So, where is Christopher? Is he getting himself into trouble again?"

Piper flinched at the question, just as the front door opened. "Piper, you wouldn't believe what we got for..." Phoebe stopped as she walked into the parlour and noticed the standoff. "Who's he?" she asked Piper, totally ignoring the visitor.

"You don't recognize me, Aunt Phoebe?"

Phoebe's eyes widened in horror as she realized that the arrogant man in front of her was merely the older version of her cute nephew. "Wyatt?"

"You do remember me...I'm touched!" Wyatt mocked.

"What happened to you?" Paige asked in disgust as she realized the truth behind Chris' words and warnings.

"And hello to you too, Aunt Paige," Wyatt greeted her. "Why are you so grouchy these days anyways? Maybe that's what happens when you can't get any!" he laughed.

"Why you..." Paige fumed as she raised her hand to slap him, only to be sent flying across the room. She slammed into the wall and ended in a fetal position on the floor. Phoebe immediately ran to see if she was alright.

Wyatt raised his hand again and sent Ryan flying towards him. The younger Halliwell landed right at Wyatt's feet. As Ryan struggled to get up, Wyatt clenched his fist, causing Ryan to choke.

"Stop it!!" Piper cried out. "He's your brother!!!"

"He turned against me. Anyone who disobeys me must DIE!!"

Piper tried to freeze Wyatt, but her powers were useless against the grown up Wyatt. Just as Ryan was about to run out of air, Wyatt released his hold. He knelt down and grabbed Ryan's hair. "Maybe this'll teach you to never cross me again."

"Damn you, Wyatt," Ryan hissed. "Either you kill me now, or I swear I'll work against you for the rest of my life."

Wyatt backhanded Ryan upon hearing the comment. "How dare you! You're just as stupid as Christopher."

Ryan brushed his hand against his lips, feeling the blood trickling down his chin. "You're just jealous, Wyatt. You're jealous because you were never as strong as Chris. You turned and yet he was able to resist the lure of evil. You think you're so strong, but in reality, you're the weakest of us all."

Enraged, Wyatt threw his brother repeatedly against the wall. The Charmed Ones sprung into action. Knowing that this would happen, Wyatt was ready for them. In a split second, the Charmed Ones found themselves trapped in an invisible cage, their movements restricted.

At this moment, Leo orbed into the manor, only to find that the carnage had already begun. "Wyatt?" he asked, clearly shocked by this latest turn of events.

"Dad, how nice of you to join us!" Wyatt proclaimed before enveloping him in an invisible energy dome. "My, you all look like a sorry bunch now!"

Ryan struggled to his feet, bruised and battered. "How could you do this, Wyatt? We're your family!"

"Shut up, Ryan," Wyatt ordered. "You were stupid enough to go along with Chris and turn against me. You could've enjoyed ruling alongside me, but you chose to go with him!! Chris is nothing compared to me. He is just a piece of trash!!"

Hearing Wyatt's tirade sent Ryan's anger boiling. He charged at Wyatt like a football player and sent him flying against the wall. Taken by surprise, Wyatt could not react in time. However, he quickly recovered and sent a massive bolt of electricity surging into Ryan, who yelled in pain and agony.

Wyatt sent bolt after bolt into Ryan, nearly killing him. Finally satisfied, he placed a powerful choke hold on his younger brother.

"Stop it!! Wyatt!! STOP!!" Piper screamed as she banged against the invisible cage. Tears streaming down her face, she felt sickened by Wyatt's actions.

Ryan struggled to keep fighting, but he could feel his life being drained out of him. He looked to his aunts who were powerless to help him. His mother was pleading with Wyatt to stop and his dad was crying as well. As he slowly felt his eyes closing, a bright light filled the room. Immediately, he felt Wyatt release his choke hold on him.

"Well, it's about time, Christopher," Wyatt observed. "I was beginning to wonder when you were planning to show up."

The Charmed Ones looked on in anticipation as Chris and Wyatt faced off against each other.

"You're completely out of your mind, Wyatt," Chris answered, his face void of any emotions.

"You've put on quite the show, Chris," Wyatt continued. "I've been impressed. Too bad it ended so badly, getting thrown out of the house and all," he laughed as Chris clenched his fists.

"Why exactly are you here anyway, Wyatt?" Chris asked, choosing to ignore his brother's comment.

"One reason. To destroy you."

"Feeling insecure?" Chris mocked. "Since when did you feel threatened by little old me?"

Now it was Wyatt's turn to be angry. "Get this straight, Christopher. You are an annoyance, not a threat."

"Is that so?" Chris continued, knowing that he was getting to his older brother. "Or maybe you're just completely delusional."

Having heard enough, Wyatt lashed out his right hand, sending Chris flying into a table, completely shattering it. Wyatt smirked at the sight of Chris sprawled on the floor. "You're forgetting your place here, Chris. You've always been nothing and you'll always be nothing. Sometimes I seriously wonder if you're even a Halliwell."

The sight of the carnage renewed the Charmed Ones' efforts to free themselves from the cage. Piper was once again becoming hysterical, convinced that Wyatt would not hesitate to kill Chris or Ryan.

Chris got to his feet and glared at his brother defiantly. "I know I don't have a place in this family," he said, keeping his voice steady. Piper cried out as she heard Chris' statement, her heart shattered. Leo could not help but look to the floor in shame. "But that doesn't mean I'm not going to stop you," Chris added. He flicked his right hand and immediately, Wyatt was levitated into mid-air. Chris flicked again and Wyatt was sent crashing into the wall.

The two brothers battled each other for the next hour, with neither being able to gain the upper hand. Both, however, became battered and bruised. Piper watched the battle unfold, knowing that when this was over, one of her sons would be dead. Her thoughts were interrupted as she watched Wyatt and Chris struggle to their feet again. Both of them were badly injured and could barely stay standing.

"I'm impressed, Christopher. You were actually able to put up a half- decent fight," Wyatt observed. Before Chris could come back with an answer, a demon shimmered into the manor. Wyatt turned to see the visitor and smiled. "Mokrian, how good of you to join us!"

"Lord Wyatt, I apologize for arriving late," Mokrian answered, his head bowed.

"No matter, I was just getting warmed up," Wyatt answered. "But I think we've spent enough time playing. It's time to get down to business."

"Yes, Lord Wyatt."

"Christopher must be destroyed. And then you can get rid of the rest of this sorry family."

Mokrian unleashed a barrage of poison arrows. Chris dodged the attack and dove to safety. The injuries that he sustained from his fight with Wyatt slowed down his movements, however, and the last arrow grazed his shoulder.

"Chris!!" Leo called out in horror.

Chris closed his eyes and concentrated. He clenched his fist and exerted pressure. Blood gushed out from his arrow wound, causing Piper to feel nauseous again.

Wyatt clapped. "Impressive, Chris. I didn't think you had it in you to force the poison out." Turning to the rest of his family, he continued, "I wish I could stay, but unfortunately, we're short on time. Mokrian, finish him off," Wyatt ordered.

Mokrian smiled. "Gladly." He raised his right hand and plunged it into Wyatt's back, causing him to cry out in pain. Everyone else just looked on in shock.
